In less than 2 years, she lost over 35 pounds and lowered
her triglycerides 200
points!
Dietary
Modifications:
#1
Avoid refined sugar and salt....at least in meals
at home! Good flavor is possible with substitutions
of honey (which can fire up your metabolism),
turbinado sugar, date sugar, rapadura, or pure
fruit juice. Use sea salt and herbs! These
wont puff you up the way that white sugar and
salt will.
#2
Eat more rice than
potatoes.
#3
Use canola and olive oils
for cooking. Never buy margarine--only butter, and
use less. Try using sesame tahini as a spread on
toast and bagels. Try kinako or furikake on rice.
Try lemon and horseradish on baked potatoes with
less/or no butter and sour cream. Cut down on mayo
and use more mustard, garlic, and
ginger.
#4
Eat lots of fresh washed
fruits and veggies! When you want to snack on chips
and/or sweets always eat some fruit or veggies first. And eat chips and sweets that are made with
raw sea salt or raw sugar whenever
possible.
#5
Avoid all foods made with
monosodium glutamate (msg). Msg makes you want to
eat more and also puffs you up. It is an ingredient
in most store-bought salad dressings, seasoned
chips like Doritos, most processed meats like Bryan
hotdogs, lunchmeat, and frozen breaded shrimp &
chicken. Some brands without msg include:
Butterball, Mr. Turkey, Paul Newmans, and
Tyson.
#6
Avoid foods made with hydrogenated oils. Most
store-bought crackers and breads have this
ingredient which is being linked with cancer and
doesn't digest well. Some breads that don't have
hydrogenated oils are: Wonder lite, and Colonial
lite.
#7
Cut down or stop drinking
sodas. The sodium and sugar will puff you up. Also
forget artificial sweeteners, since they are linked
with many unpleasant problems like headaches and
spasms. In fact, artificial sweeteners comprise 60%
of the complaints of side effects reported to the
FDA each year. Fizzy Emergen-C powdered drink mix
(with 1000mgs of vitaminC!) can help wean you from
soda.
#8
Consider using a fat burner occasionally or the fat
absorber called Chitosan. Also try Triphala, an
Ayurvedic remedy for toning the gut & digestion
system.
#9
Don't eat a high protein diet. Only 3 to 4 ounces
of protein a day is recommended. Otherwise the body
is forced to try to burn excess protein as fuel,
putting a burden on the kidneys and liver caused by
waste leftover after burning protein.
#10
Don't cut out fats and oils entirely. They trigger
the release of bile necessary for good digestion.
Supplement Vitamin E, Lecithin, Flax, Guggul, and
red yeast.
#11
Learn which Chinese & Western herbs are best
for your individual
constitution, and make a big
batch of tea once or twice a week to balance and
satisfy your body.
#12
Carnitine, Chromium, fennel, and other supplements
like 5HTP or Metaboloss can reduce cravings and
compulsive eating. But make sure that they are
appropriate for you. Drink red/pink grapefruit
juice and cranberry juice made without corn
syrup.
***For increased comfortable
energy try American Ginseng--gentle yet
effective.
